Hamamelis Witch Hazel Intermedia Pallida has sulphur-yellow flowers with a sweet perfume. From December through to February this hardy, deciduous shrub provides a rare splash of colour in the winter garden. The summer foliage that follows can blend into other plants this can form a useful background shrub. In autumn the foliage turns to an inferno of yellow, orange and crimson colour. This variety makes a brilliant plant for large borders and woodland edges. Height and Spread: 4m (13”). Grow Witch Hazel in borders in non-alkaline, rich fertile, well drained soil. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade. Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants become established. Prune hamamelis in spring, immediately after flowering. Remove any damaged or diseased stems and lightly shape the plant. After pruning, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the shrub.
