Evergreen, glossy leaves with a broad palmate appearance make a fine architectural feature that endures all year round. Throughout summer, it produces umbels of creamy white flowers that add to its tropical appearance. The blooms are followed by glossy purple-black berries in autumn, giving a long season of interest. Fatsia is perfectly hardy and much tougher than it looks. It will thrive in borders or containers with very little maintenance. This fuss-free shrub is equally happy in sun or shade making it extremely versatile. Grow Fatsia in any fertile, moist soil in sun or semi-shade. A sheltered position is preferable.
