Clematis Bridgewater is a stunning, compact clematis variety named in tribute to RHS Garden Bridgewater. This deciduous climber showcases large, soft pink flowers up to 15cm wide from June through August, with a second smaller flush of blooms in September. With its tidy habit, this variety is perfect for containers or smaller garden spaces, adding vertical interest to patios, trellises, walls or fences. Its a hardy perennial that belongs to pruning group 3, flowering on the current seasons growth. Clematis Bridgewater reaches a height of 1. 2m (4ft) and a spread of 90cm (35in), making it highly manageable and versatile. Plant in sun or part shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. When planting, ensure the top of the rootball is 7. 5cm (3") below soil level to encourage healthy basal shoots. Clematis dislike overly wet or dry soils, so improve with compost or well-rotted manure if needed. In containers, use John Innes No. 3 compost and provide support. Feed and water regularly, and prune in spring, cutting last years stems down to a healthy pair of buds around 20cm (8") above the ground. Apply a mulch of compost in spring to conserve moisture and feed the plant. Images shown are for guidance only and show the expected results of plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e. g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months). Decorative pots are not supplied.
