Narcissus 'Blushing Lady' is an old-fashioned jonquil daffodil with a beautiful fragrance and charming clusters of flowers. Several blooms appear on each stem, opening in primrose yellow before developing a white halo around the base of the petals. The central trumpet gradually changes to a soft pink and then a rich salmon shade, creating an attractive spring display. Despite its delicate appearance, this hardy daffodil is a tough and reliable garden performer, hardy to -20°C and resistant to deer and rabbits. Its compact habit makes it ideal for containers, borders and naturalising in grass, where it looks particularly effective planted in drifts. How to Grow Plant Narcissus 'Blushing Lady' bulbs in any moist, well-drained soil in full sun or semi shade. Plant the bulbs approximately 10cm (4") deep and 10cm (4") apart. For the best effect, plant in groups or natural-looking drifts through borders and informal areas of grass. For an indoor display, plant daffodil bulbs in containers of bulb fibre and place them in a cool, dark and well-ventilated position at a maximum temperature of 10°C (50°F). Water sparingly to keep the compost moist. Once the shoots reach around 10cm (4") tall, move the containers to a cool, bright position indoors at approximately 16°C (60°F). After flowering, allow the foliage to die back naturally before removing it in June or July. When naturalising daffodils in grass, avoid mowing the area until the foliage has completely died back. Height: 35cm (14"). Spread: 10cm (4").
