Galanthus woronowii, commonly known as the ‘Giant Snowdrop,’ is a striking and unique addition to any late winter or early spring garden. Originating from the Caucasus and Turkey, this snowdrop stands out with its larger flowers and bright green, glossy foliage that offers a stunning contrast to the classic white blooms. It is both bold and elegant, making it a favourite for gardeners seeking something beyond the typical native snowdrop. This charming snowdrop thrives in shaded or lightly shaded areas, especially beneath deciduous trees, and is well suited for raised beds or rock gardens. Its ability to naturalise easily allows it to form expanding clusters year after year, bringing fresh vibrancy to the garden when few other plants are flowering. Recognized with the RHS Award of Garden Merit, it’s a reliable, easy-care choice for both casual gardeners and snowdrop enthusiasts. How to Grow: Light: Prefers dappled or light shade, ideal under deciduous trees Temperature: Thrives in temperate climates with cool winters Watering: Keep soil moist, especially during summer dormancy Feeding: Enrich soil with well-rotted manure or garden compost before planting Humidity: Prefers humid conditions but requires well-drained soil to avoid sogginess Images shown are for guidance only and show the expected results of plants upon maturity.
