One of the most recognisable varieties, Thompson & Morgan Clematis ‘Nelly Moser’ has large, pale pink petals with distinctive deep pink central stripe and contrasting red anthers. Wide blooms are followed by attractive seed heads that extend the elegant display of Thompson & Morgan Clematis ‘Nelly Moser’ well into late summer. Choose a sunny or semi-shaded area when growing Thompson & Morgan Clematis ‘Nelly Moser’ and plant the climber deeply in moist, fertile, well-drained soil, positioning the root ball at a depth of 7.5cm (3”) below soil level, in order to encourage new shoots to form from the base of the plant. Clematis dislike soils that are particularly wet or dry, however these soil condition can be improved with the addition of plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost. Thompson & Morgan Clematis ‘Nelly Moser’ is ideal for planting by a north facing position as the flowers tend to fade when planted in full sun. When planting in patio containers, use a soil based compost. Train clematis plants onto a suitable support such as trellis, wires or a freestanding climbing frame.
