Thompson & Morgan Thompson & Morgan Liquidambar Styraciflua (sweet Gum) 9Cm Potted Plant X 2

Liquidambar styraciflua, commonly known as Sweet Gum, is a majestic deciduous tree perfect as a stand-alone specimen or at the edge of woodlands. Its palmate leaves emerge fresh green in spring before transforming into brilliant shades of red, orange, and purple in autumn. Small spring flowers are followed by distinctive spiky fruit clusters, adding further interest. Hardy and versatile, this tree thrives in a range of soils, including tricky chalky sites, making it a striking feature in large gardens. Growing Instructions Plant in moist, fertile, well-drained soil in full sun or semi-shade. Although it prefers neutral to acidic soil, it is lime-tolerant if soil depth is sufficient. Water and feed regularly until established. Very little pruning is required, but damaged or misplaced shoots may be pruned in winter or early spring while the tree is dormant. For best autumn colour, choose a sunny position. Images shown are for guidance only and show the expected results of plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results.
